Cryptocurrency investors have realized that over half of their wealth has gone to the dogs as they discover that inu (犬) is simply the Japanese word for dog.
This revelation has caused confusion, as many investors had assumed that the word "inu" was simply a random string of letters that sounded cool.
"I thought it was an acronym, like 'Innovative New... Utilities' or something," one investor told reporters.
"A lot of projects sound a bit stupid with that in mind," said another. "Apart from Don't Buy Inu, I don't think it bothers them."
Despite the revelation developers and investors seem unfazed as 400 projects have launched in the past 24 hours with the name inu in their name.
